Reign: Why should I watch it?
Okay, let’s talk about Reign.
New to The CW, this period drama follows Mary, Queen of Scots, as she moves to the French court to wed her future husband, Francis, the Kings’ heir.
And the fandom is getting bigger by the minute, so let’s take a look at this new hit series.
Here’s what you need to know:
It’s set in 16th century France.
Mary is the Queen of Scotland, and is engaged to Francis, who will be the King of France.
She has 4 besties, her ladies-in-waiting. And all girls are looking for love.
There’s a mystery woman by the name of Clarissa hiding in the Court.
Nostradamus has visions of the future. He predicts Mary will bring about Francis’ death.
The Queen is opposed to Mary and Francis’ union, and will kill to stop it.
Someone is making sacrifices in the woods.
Familiar faces:
Mary is played by Adelaide Kane, who recently co-starred with Tyler Hoechlin as Derek’s sister, Cora Hale, on MTV’s Teen Wolf.
Lola, one of Mary’s best friends, is none other than Susan from The Chronicles of Narnia.
Kenna, another one of Mary’s close friends, starred in The Sleepover Club as Frankie on Nickelodeon.
Colin, who appears in the first few episodes, also plays naughty Moroi, Jesse Zeklos, in the upcoming vampire adaptation, Vampire Academy.
Potential ships:
Frary – Francis and Mary’s chemistry is undeniable. OTP, anyone?
Mash – Bash is the bastard son of the King of France. And a handsome one at that. He seems to have a soft spot for Mary.
Tomary – Tomas is in line for the Portugal throne, and can offer Mary the security her country needs.
There are so many reasons to watch Reign, so please give it a try! We’re sure you’ll love it as much as we do!
