Comic Book Adaptations
After months of teasing and weeks of anticipation, we finally have an epic, goosebumps-inducing trailer for next Summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2! Watch the trailer below in HD.
The film’s synopsis reads as follows,
With the emergence of Electro, Spider-Man must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, Peter Parker comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
The trailer starts off with Spider-Man doing a free fall into the city of New York and continues to show his journey as he battles villains, discovers secrets, meets new friends and connects with Gwen. The trailer ends with the tagline “His greatest battle begins.”
Just another day for Spider-Man as he free-dives into the city …
… contemplates his actions while sitting high up, overlooking the skyline …
[We are loving this view too Andy … I mean Spidey!]
… causing traffic jams …
… dodging bullets …
… and saving the day. You see, just another day folks!
Oh and finally meeting up with his lady friend, Gwen. [We ship these two so much!]
Enter old friend, Harry Osborn. He may be a cutie, but we sense something sinister in his eyes!
I mean, just look at him, that charm, that smile … he must be a bad boy and bad boys have all the fun!
Peter looks to Aunt May for answers, who gives us a memorable line “Secrets have a cost, the truth does too!”
Peter sets out to discover the truth and finds his father’s videos.
His father says that OsCorp wanted to use his research and they did not have good intentions, so he felt it was his duty to protect the world from what they could be capable of. [Also … comic book Sinister Six nod in the still above.]
But Harry literally wants to change the world …
Oh OsCorp, as usual you guys are up to no good!
Enter these three bad guys – The Rhino, Green Goblin and Electro!
And so the mayhem begins!
Peter must make his choices, no matter the cost. *sobs*
And these are hard times, for Electro wants to plunge everyone in darkness and also destroy Spider-Man!
GOOSEBUMPS, YOU GUYS! I HAVE GOOSEBUMPS ALL OVER!
Gwen is in trouble – I do not like this!!!
But looks like Spider-Man will save her and the day … right? right? RIGHT?
You guys, I love this still, it looks like it is straight out of the pages of a comic book!
I like this suit … What’s up Spidey? How you doin’?
It’s still a long time to go for the film, but it’s going to be one hell of a wait!
The film stars Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Paul Giamatti as The Rhino, Sally Field as May Parker, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn, Marton Csokas as Dr. Kafka, Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson and Denis Leary as Captain George Stacey.
The film still has about six months of post production work to complete and will be released on the weekend of May 3, 2014. There may be a whole lot of sceptics out there as far as the reboot is concerned, but I’m really enjoying Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man and can’t wait to see the film next Summer.
Are you excited for the sequel?
Israeli model and actress Gal Gadot will be playing the iconic role of Wonder Woman in the 2015 upcoming Batman Vs. Superman film to be directed by Zack Snyder. She will star along side Henry Cavill, who will reprise his role as Superman and Ben Affleck who has been cast as Batman.
Gal, 28, has also appeared in three Fast and Furious films (4, 5 and 6) as well as in Date Night and Knight and Day.
Zack Snyder said that:
Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.
Wonder Woman, also Diana of Themyscira, is an Amazon princess with super powers including strength, speed, agility, stamina, flight and healing. Her weapons include the Lasson of Truth, the Tiara of telepathy, indestructible bracelets and a magical sword. Lynda Carter portrayed The character in the first live action television series which ran from 1975 to 1979. Subsequent revival of a television series for the character was unsuccessful.
It had been speculated earlier that along with Gadot, G.I. Joe: Retaliation‘s Elodie Yung and Bond girl Olga Kurylenko were being considered for the role.
There are also rumours that another DC Comics hero, Flash, will make an appearance in the film which is slated to release on July 17, 2015. The producers are also looking to cast the film’s villain. Filming is scheduled to begin in early 2014 with Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne returning in their roles.
What do you think of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman?

Are you excited for the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man?
The official trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past landed a couple of days ago and excuse us for not talking about this earlier! We were suffering from a serious case of fangirling and symptoms included goosebumps, shivering, crying and shrieking! The trailer is THAT EPIC! So without further delay, lets take a peek and find out what our favourite mutants are upto!
Now, wasn’t that truly awesome? Professor X’s speech, the background music (John Murphy), and all the characters, past, present and new (future)!
Nostalgia strikes as we see glimpses of the gang from the original X-Men trilogy!
And then some hot new mutants looking serious, read more about these four at Empire Online!
and then we meet the gang we last saw in X-Men: First Class – welcome back you lot, we missed you guys!
There is a whole lot of stuff going on in the trailer, which serves as both a sequel to X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and X-Men: First Class (2011), with Professor X trying to convince Wolverine to go back in the past and help guide the young professor to save the future.
They are all suited up, they are all in unfamiliar territory, I think its safe to say that SHIZ will go down here!
Uhm, yes, SHIZ does go down!
Poor Wolverine, if its not adamantium being inserted into his body, its someone trying to read his memories – it all hurts him people!
So its times like these when I seriously think I have a problem because I’m so in love with this psycho!
And it seems like he’s destroying some peaceful 70’s demonstration!
And trying to hurt my girl Mystique?! Wait …. STOP! I ship these two!
Yes, you heard that right! I ship you with Erik!
So of course SHIZ goes down in the past, but wait … what is Tyrion Lannister doing here?
Uhm, he’s obviously someone sinister and powerful and dark!
The man you can’t be killed! This is going to be an epic scene in the film, but I’m already a bit distracted! Sigh!
Storm has some cool powers!
But my favourite mutant is Rogue, so nothing should happen to her basically!
This scene is just TWO bloody fantastic! Prof X tells Prof X to get his groove back on! EPIC stuff!
This trailer is death by EPICNESS and we cannot wait for the film (May 2014) and a whole lot more of EPIC trailers, promos, posters and material to be released!
Did you suffer from fangirling after seeing this trailer?
So, we’re into Fall now, but there’s still plenty of incredible films that will be hitting our cinema screens before the year ends! And here are the ones we’re especially excited for.
Divergent and TFiOS’s Ansel Elgort, and Kick Ass’ Chloe Grace Moretz star in this remake of the 1976 horror of the same name. Based on the novel, expect lots of gore and well, psychological powers.

Which ones will you be seeing?
Will the latest Batman please stand up!
We have seen many avatars of Batman through the ages and the vigilantee crusader has been represented in media by notable faces such as Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney and more recently, Christian Bale in The Dark Knight trilogy. After The Dark Knight Rises, Bale hung up his batsuit and decided to move on to other projects!
However, at Comic-Con this July, Man of Steel director Zack Snyder unveiled plans for the sequel to the Summer hit and shocked audiences worldwide when the screen behind him popped up with the two symbols of Batman and Superman … together! The word went crazy at the thought of a Superman Vs Batman movie!
Warner Bros announced the plans for the sequel, that it would indeed feature the two superheroes and would be released in 2015, with production due to start in early 2014. Soon, rumours and speculation flew around as to who would play Batman in this new movie with a potential Justice League spin-off. Names were thrown around from Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf) to Armie Hammer (who stars opposite Man of Steel‘s Henry Cavill in The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) and back to Christian Bale who was rumoured to have been offered US$ 60 million to reprise his role.
All rumours were put to rest last night, as the latest Batman was announced, and fangirls and boys, it is … drumroll … Ben Affleck!
Ben Affleck’s last outing as a superhero, Marvel’s Daredevil, did not fare well … but here is hoping that his latest avatar as Batman will charm movie goers! He certainly has the brooding look and the chiselled jawline to play Batman, even though he wasn’t an obvious choice!
Can we handle this double dose of hotness on our screens? Just as a reminder – Superman (Henry Cavill) looks like this –
What do you guys think of Ben Affleck as Batman?
Stay tuned as the movie goes into production in early 2014 (soon after Superman himself, Henry Cavill, finishes filming The Man From U.N.C.L.E.). Superman Vs Batman is slated for release on July 17, 2015!

Yesterday was a big day for poster releases for upcoming movies. Not only did the first ever motion poster for Vampire Academy movie get released, but we were also treated to the first posters for the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
In case you missed it, the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past surprised us last weekend by making an appearance and presenting at San Diego Comic-Con! You can watch the panel below –
On Monday, official posters were revealed showing both Professor X (Charles Xavier) and Magneto (Erik Lensherr) in their days, both future and past, merged together in two separate and brilliant posters.
Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellan reprise their roles, from the original trilogy, as the older versions of Professor X and Magneto, respectively, while James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender return from X-Men: First Class as the young Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr.
Joining the main cast are newcomers Peter Dinklage (Bolivar Trask), Adan Canto (Sunspot), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), Fan Bingbing (Blink), Omar Sy (Bishop) and Josh Helman (William Stryker).
The film also marks the return of Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast) and Lucas Till (Havok). Mutants returning from the original trilogy include Halle Berry (Storm), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Ellen Page (Shadowcat), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) and the only mutant to have appeared in all seven X-Men films, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, for whom we found this poster online, which is probably fan-made and alludes to the fact that Wolverine never grows old! The next Wolverine movie The Wolverine is out this Friday, July 25, 2013!
Filming is still underway until at least September 2013, as mentioned by director Bryan Singer (who returns as director) on Twitter.
The film releases on May 23, 2014 and is based on the 1981 Uncanny X-Men storyline of the same name.
Are you excited about the next X-Men film? And are you going to watch The Wolverine in cinemas this weekend? Let us know in the comments below!
